WHAT DO MEDICARE PLANS COVER?
The Original Medicare program is divided into two parts. Medicare Part A covers healthcare costs related to care and treatment received in a hospital or skilled nursing facility. In some cases, Part A may cover at-home care.
Part B covers medical supplies and services that are required to treat the insured patient’s condition. Expenses typically covered by Part B include outpatient care, preventative care, durable medical equipment, and ambulance expenses. Part B also covers home health services, like physical rehabilitation or speech-language pathology, if these services are ordered by the patient’s doctor.
